The CCHS Science Department offers AP courses in Biology and Chemistry two courses in Physics, AP B and AP C (with calucus). For further information about the exams, view the web sites listed below.

SAT II Information:

The 2006 SAT II exams will take place on June 3rd.

The Subject Tests in science include Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Course material alone will not adequately prepare students for these exams. Additional preparation is necessary. Consultation with the student's science teacher is also strongly recommended.


The test in Biology may be taken at the end of the Biology 525 (Honors) course (freshman or sophomore year); the student should be receiving at least a A- in the couse. This test is usually not appropriate for a student in Biology 521 (College Prep). Students have had success taking either the molecular or environmental versions of of the biology exam.

The test in Chemistry may be taken at the end of the year in which the student takes Chemistry 536 (Honors) should be receiving at least an A- in the course. This test is usually not appropriate for students in Chemistry 531 (College Prep) or Chemistry 535 (Enriched).


The test in Physics may be taken at the end of the Physics 556 (Honors) course (usually at the end of the junior year), with at least an A- in the course. This test is usually not appropriate for students in Physics 551 (College Prep) or Physics 555 (Enriched).
